Welcome to Jerf's guide to making your computer faster

-Your computer can be harmed in the process if not done right.
-System runs smoother.
-Just follow these quick easy steps.

-Step 1. Start > Run.

-Step 2. Type in msconfig. Push OK.

-Step 3. DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING UNLESS INSTRUCTED.

-Step 4. Go to the service tab.

-Step 5. Check the hide Microsoft Services box.

-Step 6. Uncheck boxes that you don't need on start up. Click Apply.

-Step 7. Go to the Startup tab. Mine will be very clean compared to yours.

-Step 8. Uncheck all programs not needed. I unchecked my Msn Messenger as well as Microsoft Office. Mine is way cleaner then yours also.

-Step 9. Click apply and push OK.

-Step 10. Click Restart. Yay! Faster Computer!

-Your computer will restart with less things running at once which will boost the speed.
-Try to keep your computer clean as possible.

Yeah i used it before i posted it just to see.Soo happy now was tired of stuff popping up while i started up my computer.It would literally take 10 mins for firefox to pop up only took like 3 now.

Yeah this is awesome.

Steam would pop-up and load for me and take like 10 minutes to load/exit.

Lol thats why i uninstalled steam gets so annoying.Im glad i took msn off there too.

I actually removed steam from my computer.

Also, Jerf, can you tell us which things can't be removed? I don't want to remove something i need.

Basically when you tick the box to take out the Microsoft shit, you're clear. There may be some other things in there, just disable what you need to and if unsure, search for the process or find out what it is by searching for it in your system.

This can also greatly increase your boot times, as well as general performance.

I've been googling the processes of each thing so i know whether to remove it or not.

If you check the box of hiding the Microsoft box, you should be safe.

Idk. I keep my computer VERY VERY clean. As you can see in the pictures. Therefore i only have programs that i know i need/want.
