1. Spamming
Spamming is posting anything irrelevant to the topic or any unneeded posts.

Short posts like "Yeah", "Nice", "That's cool", etc; do not cut it unless it is absolutely neccessary. One such example is if someone asks a question, someone could reply a simple "Yes it is.", this would be sufficient.

Spamming includes posting with only smiley's and image's (unless the thread directs otherwise).

Bumping the thread is classed as spam, a bump is allowed every 48hours. Any time before that and it will be dealt with as spam.

Posting on Report's that do not involve you is spam. If you are to post on a report, you must help out by means of further proof, etc;

2. Flaming
Flaming is the fighting between members. Any members seen fighting and bickering will recieve harsh punishment. We here at Rule-12 do not promote fighting between members.

Any racism, sexism, etc; is also considered flaming and will be dealt with harshly.

Constant attacks on a certain member will be taken as flaming.

Flame-baiting is also not allowed. Members are not allowed to post anything that will somewhat provoke another member, if users are caught doing so, it will be dealt with as a flame.

3. Scamming
Stealing from another member, from our community or not, will classify you as a scammer. It can earn you a Ban, IPban or a Market Ban. We here at Rule-12 do not promote stealing of any kind.

Phishing and any other attack attempts on the fellow users of Rule-12 will also classify you a scammer. You have been warned.

Recovering donation's is also scamming.

Selling item's that aren't yours will also earn you the rank of a scammer.

4. Accounts
You may not share 1 account between multiple users.

If you are temporary banned on an account, you may not re-register on another. If you are caught doing this, you will be IPbanned.

The selling of your Rule-12 account is also disallowed.

Having multiple accounts on one IP is disallowed. If you require multiple accounts on one IP, then please PM an Admin. We understand that family members might also want to be a part of Rule-12, PM an Admin to arrange this.

5. Leeching / Ripping
Any form of leeching is disallowed on Rule-12. If you are caught copying content that isn't yours and claiming it as your own, you will be dealt with harshly.

Leeching can cover anything from Guide's to Graphic's, etc;

These punishments apply after a member has been caught ripping :

1st Offence - A four point infraction that lasts for ten days.

2nd Offence - A 3 day temporary ban off Rule-12.

3rd Offence - A permanent ban off the section your have been ripping in. This can be the User Educator, Runescape Guides or Graphic sections, etc;

6. Profile
Members are not allowed image's that flash excessively on their profile. This can include avatar's and signature's.

An over excessive amount of smiley's is not tolerated.

Your not allowed a username image of any other name but your account name.

No Rule-12 rank images, such as pips, are allowed on your profile, such as avatar's and signature's. You are allowed pips as your avatar or signature, as long as it is not an official Rule-12.com pip/rank.

7. Backseat Moderation
We have Staff for a reason, please do not attempt to be a Staff member.

8. Pornography/Gore
It is simply not tolerated here at Rule-12. We have a variety of age's in our member's. Please keep this content from this website.

9. Advertising
You may not post any refferal links on Rule-12.

You are entitled to one external website link in your signature. The link shall be labelled correctly, nothing like "Free Hosting" that links you to another forum.

No masking links, links such as "*****" will be deleted and the user infracted.

No posting links that require user's to register on the site first.

10. Trolling
Trolling is prohibited at Rule-12.

"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."

Any members caught attempting to provoke a negative responce from the community or certain members will be dealt with.

11. Personal Information
A member is not allowed to post personal information about any other user here at Rule-12.

This can include a phone number, an address, an IP, anything that relates to a users private/personal identity. It won't be tolerated, we like to keep our members details confidential.

12. Gravedigging
Gravedigging is the term used when someone posts on an old thread.

A member may not post on a thread when the previous post is older then 30days.

13. Language
English must always be spoken on Rule-12. No other language's are allowed. You may use another language for a sentence only, very brief. But no conversations in any language but English.

The brief use of other language could be quote's, sayings or those little 5 word Latin lines people tend to like.

Noone is also alot to speak in "leetspeak", outside the Spam Section. This goes for language and grammar like - "i iz tehz pawnz yews nao biashes" and all that nonsense. None of it outside the Spam Section. We won't crack down with full force on it, but keep this kind of talk minimal outside the Spam Section.

* Rules could change without notice. You will still be responsible for your actions.

The staff can interpret the rules as they see fit.
